Greetings
Today, I thought I’d scribe a few words about my experience with Reiki and the profound effect it has had upon my life. Truly, life can take you in a most unexpected direction.
First though, let me take you back to around 2015. I’d just finished arrived for gym session and a most incongruous banner welcomed we. It proclaimed a psychic fayre was to take place within the confines of the local fitness studio. To say I was somewhat surprised was an understatement. I took myself into the gym first, worked on the machines and I’m sure I was cross training in the grand canyon or in some such fine background. I always thought the idea of combining video scenery with workouts a most splendid idea.
I finished, got changed and descended into the capacious ground floor of the leisure centre. Should I pay this gathering of rather strange individuals a visit I wondered? I inhaled sharp, pondered what on Earth I was doing and entered the hall.
I listened to the talks. I had my first reading. I had my first healing. Life changed in a huge way.
I know now I was being driven to that moment. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find the planets aligned to give me this spiritual shove in this direction. Or it was just plain kismet. Anyway, this was the big start to my life in the world of the unusual.
I soon went to a few more fayres. I met some amazing people and eventually met my Reiki Master. I met my Angelic Reiki Master. I discovered the M.S.D.C and the Shakra Centre. I met a lady who taught me to heal with my voice by working with the angels. I worked with crystals where but a few years before I’d have told you they were just pretty rocks. Then I find I’m out doing readings with Tarot, runes and oracles. What happened to me?
It’s clear it was an awakening. There were moments before that nudged me upon this road but once I opened the box of Reiki that really did set me on my path.
For many, Reiki is the chance for them to heal everyone. It’s the business of therapy and it seems quite a lucrative one. Not quite the case though for many of us. However, there are quite a few Reiki healers out there now and lots of variants to boot. Some are convoluted and laden in dogma. Others are quite simple and others are unusual, even for me.
Yet, many of us miss the point. Reiki is always and primarily for the one who has discovered it. Self healing, enlightenment and a tool for our own development is how I see it. Yes, I am a Reiki Master although I’d much prefer instructor or even Sensei to be honest. I have no interest in Egoistic sobriquets but just someone who was drawn to Reiki and truly blessed to be able to work with this wonderful energy.
It is my belief that we are all entitled to this light. Indeed, I’d say to many of us who have been touched by it that it’s our duty to bring it forward in the way that’s best for us. It may be that for some of us that Reiki wasn’t quite what we wanted or expected. There are those who see unicorns drinking in Lemurian fountains in an attunement and others who merely feel a little tingling.
For each though, it is a very personal journey and neither is more profound or spiritual than the other. All I’d say is to allow that light in and let it be your guide.
I practice Qi Gong daily too. It’s a beautiful spiritual and physical practice that really brings the energy to the fore. I did karate for many years but never felt the connection this offers me. Karate made me sweat and donated me a few bruises and injuries along with good fitness and great friends. Qi Gong, works deep and it also blends beautifully with Reiki. I integrate both energies when I’m healing (some may even argue it’s the same energy and I’d not disagree with either point of view).
I wonder where my road with Reiki will lead in time. All I know is it is for me the same as all who’ve been touched by Reiki. It’s our personal journey and may this beautiful road unwind as it will.
My thanks to all who’ve taken the time to read my piece. If you’d like to share your own wisdom and thoughts it’d be a delight to hear them. If perhaps, this has piqued your interest to learn it yourself, then please do consider getting in touch. The first step is often the hardest. Will you take that initiative? Only you can answer that.
